List of Epidemics & Pandemics in Modern World
1899-1923
1. Cholera Pandemic → The outbreak happened in India and spread to various parts of the world, the outbreak killed thousands in India & Russia.
1918-1920
2. Spanish Flu → The virus spread in Spain & infected almost 5 million people all over the world. More than fifty million died, most of them in United States of America.
1957-1958
3. Asian Flu → The virus first struck Singapore and spread to China, UK and USA. The virus killed an estimated one million people worldwide.
1961
4. Cholera Pandemic → Cholera struck again, cholera is the longest pandemic in the world, and still exits in many parts of the world.
5. Hong Kong Flu → The flu emerged in Hong Kong and spread to many parts of the world. One million people, mostly in Hong Kong died.
1977-1980
6. Small Pox → The disease considered as too dangerous is now eradicated.
1981
7. HIV/AIDS → The disease continues to threaten the world. Since 1981 millions have died of AIDS, and millions get infected by AIDS every year.

8. SARS → The virus struck South China and Hong Kong killing eight hundred people.
2012
9. MERS (Corona Virus) → The virus spread in Saudi Arabia & killed almost 900 people.
2014-2016
10. EBOLA Virus → The virus emerged in West Africa and spread to Europe & USA an estimated 11,000 people died.
2015-2016
11. ZIKA Virus → The virus spread in Brazil. It mostly infected the pregnant women. The Zika virus was eradicated in 2016.

12. Corona Virus 'COVID-19' → Corona virus disease or 'COVID-19', struck city of Wuhan in China and spread to almost 200 countries all over the world so far it has killed more than 150,000 people worldwide. Super Power USA has lost almost 50,000 people so far. The virus has wreck havoc in Europe. More than 2,700,000 people are infected all over the world. India has also lost 700 lives so far.
The world is Locked down today & battling with this invisible death.

What is An Endemic, Epidemic & Pandemic?
An Endemic → Spread of disease within a country or set of people.
An Epidemic → Disease effecting a community, country, a region or set of population.
Pandemic → An epidemic when spreads to other regions, countries or continents.
